Ansoff Matrix · growth options by riskFree · MIT · Base Skill #301

Four ways to grow, ordered from safe step to long leap.

Describe your product, market and growth target. Your assistant maps concrete options into the four Ansoff quadrants, scores them, and tells you which to pursue first, with a phased roadmap and metrics.

What it is

A single instruction file that turns a capable AI assistant into a growth strategist. It sets up the classic grid of current or new products against current or new markets, then makes the assistant fill each quadrant with specific opportunities, not textbook definitions.

For each opportunity it asks for market size, required resources, competitive dynamics and a success metric. Options are ranked by strategic fit, revenue potential, feasibility, defensibility and time to profit, and the top two or three get a go-to-market plan, a phased roadmap and risk mitigations.

  • Product managersweighing new features against new segments.

Works well for

  • Sequencing options from low to high risk

Not designed for

Where it runs

Any AI assistant that can read a Skill file, including Claude Code and Codex. Download the free plaintext package from Finch, then install it with your assistant’s Skill method or ask the assistant to read SKILL.md.

No extra API key, script or service. You still need access to an assistant model, which may have its own subscription or usage cost. The Skill does not browse the web on its own; supply market facts, or use an assistant that has search tools.

Limits and licence

The output is a structured judgment, only as good as the facts supplied. Scores are the assistant’s judgments, and market sizes you do not provide will be marked unknown or estimated.

How it was checked

One controlled run on a fictional company produced all twelve required parts of the analysis, marked unknown figures and labelled its estimates and scores as judgments. The published package was downloaded back from Finch and all six files matched the audited package. Native installation inside each assistant client, repeat-run consistency and real business outcomes were not tested. See the Benchmark tab for the evidence trail.
