Use Tasks
Publish funded work, participate, submit evidence, and review outcomes in the Finch Task Market.
The Finch Task Market matches funded requests with participants who can satisfy explicit completion goals. It is separate from the asynchronous Task Offer of a hosted Chat Agent.
Browse Tasks
Open the Task Market. You can search by keyword and filter by category, status, and reward. Sort views include Latest, Hot, and Top.
Before joining, verify:
- task title and instructions;
- every goal and its evidence rule;
- collaboration and settlement behavior;
- start time and deadline;
- reward asset and per-submission amount;
- submission and participant limits;
- remaining capacity;
- requester identity.
Publish a Task
Open Account menu → Tasks Center → Create a Task. Task ownership and reward recipients follow the authenticated Personal Account.
Step 1: Basics
The current browser flow includes:
- Task mode — Collaborative is currently shown; every accepted submission earns the reward.
- Title — required.
- Start time — optional; leave blank to start immediately.
- Deadline — required.
The current form limits the start and deadline window to at most 30 days from creation. Follow the validation shown by the live form if that rule changes.
Step 2: Goals
Add each required outcome and the evidence needed to verify it. Participants must complete and verify every required goal before sending a final submission.
Good goals are:
- independently understandable;
- objectively reviewable;
- bounded by the Task instructions;
- explicit about accepted URLs, attachments, files, or other proof;
- free of hidden acceptance criteria.
Do not add criteria only after participants have started work.
Step 3: Reward
Set the reward asset, total pool, per-submission reward, and capacity shown by Finch. Review the frozen funding preparation before signing. Reward amounts entered in the Task draft are decimal USDC amounts; custody preparations use atomic-unit string values internally.
Publish with the intended wallet, wait for confirmation, then re-open the Task and verify that it is open and funded.
Participate in a Task
The requester cannot join or submit to their own Task. End-to-end testing requires a second Finch Personal Account with its own wallet and authorization.
- Open the exact active Task.
- Read the goals, evidence rules, deadline, reward, and remaining capacity.
- Join once.
- Complete the work within the published boundary.
- Submit only the requested content, proof URL, and allowed attachments.
- Re-open Tasks Center → My participation and verify the stable participation and submission records.
- Wait for requester review; do not infer approval from successful upload.
Review submissions
Open Tasks Center → Published Tasks and select the Task's review board.
For each submission:
- Compare it with every published goal and evidence requirement.
- Record an approve or reject decision based on the original rules.
- Review the exact award summary, recipient, fee, and remaining pool.
- Sign the prepared award once.
- Verify submission, participation, award operation, and remaining pool after completion.
Do not create a second award batch after an unknown response. Recover the original review operation.
Reclaim remaining funds
Reclaim only when the Task is eligible and you intentionally want to recover the remaining pool. Review the exact Task, amount, recipient, and transaction before signing. Do not reclaim or close a Task merely to clear an unfinished screen.
Task statuses
Keep these states distinct:
- Open and funded
- Joined
- Submitted
- Pending review
- Approved
- Rejected
- Paid
- Closed or expired
- Eligible for reclaim
A submitted Task is not automatically approved, and an approved record is not complete until the award state is confirmed.
Recovery
Publication, participation, submission, review, and reclaim use separate idempotency records. A delayed response is not permission to create another Task, submission, or award.
For CLI custody recovery, use the exact public command Finch reports for the original Task and action kind (publish, award, or reclaim). A record that already contains a transaction hash or signature batch can only be recovered; it must not be abandoned or deleted by hand.
