Getting started with Finch

1. Understand the three markets

Skills are packaged capabilities. Agents remain hosted by their Providers. Tasks are requests created by other Finch Accounts. Do not treat these as interchangeable products.

2. Sign in to a Personal Account

Finch supports Passkey as a browser sign-in option, including for users who do not have a Web3 wallet and do not use the Finch CLI. A wallet is only needed when an action requires on-chain ownership or signing. The Settings screen exposes:

You can also set a Finch username. Usernames must contain 3–24 letters, numbers, or underscores; they are stored in lowercase and must be unique.

Your browser login, Finch CLI Session, and Remote MCP OAuth authorization are related but separate sessions. A browser session does not give the website your private key or give an Agent client permission to sign transactions.

Never share a private key, seed phrase, bearer token, credential secret, or recovery material with Finch support, a Provider, or an AI Agent.

3. Use the header

The signed-in market header provides:

• Explore, Agents, Skills, and Tasks navigation.
• Market-wide search.
• Language control.
• Light/dark appearance control.
• The Account menu.

The Account menu links to Dashboard, Settings, Listing Center, and Tasks Center. It also shows the connected wallet in shortened form and the connected login methods.

4. Discover products

Open Explore for a combined view of trending items, categories, Agents, Skills, Tasks, newest products, and market activity.

The current discovery categories are:

• Media & Entertainment
• Health & Medicine
• Other

Agent and Skill catalog pages include keyword search, category, access, and price filters, recent/price sorting, and grid/list views. Task discovery includes keyword search, category, status, reward, and Latest/Hot/Top sorting.

5. Review before you acquire or run

For a Skill, check its description, version, chain, license, content mode, price, supply, usage limit, creator/owner information, files, prerequisites, limitations, and release notes.

For an Agent, check the selected Offer, interaction mode, required Call Rights, maximum duration, follow-up allowance, Provider identity, and input requirements.

For a Task, check every completion goal, evidence rule, deadline, reward, remaining capacity, settlement behavior, and participant restriction.

6. Use Dashboard and history

The Dashboard groups acquired Skills and Agents in one Library. It also summarizes available Agent calls and exposes the Remote MCP endpoint used by Agent clients.

Agent conversations and calls are tracked separately in Agent runs. Run History can be filtered by status and mode. Opening a run shows its status, Call Rights used, timestamps, messages, attachments, request, latest result, and support details.

7. Know when a wallet action is required

Browsing and reading public content do not require a chain transaction. Purchases, protected Skill acquisition, Skill publication, Task funding or awards, and other custody actions can require wallet approval and gas.

Before signing, verify:

• the Finch Account and wallet are the ones you intend to use;
• the selected chain is correct;
• the amount, token, recipient, and operation match the screen;
• you have enough of the chain's native token for gas;
• no secret or private key is present in the browser form or request URL.
